14th New York Turkish Film Festival, March 27 – April 5, 2015 


Organized by the American Turkish Society’s “Moon and Stars Project,”  this year’s New York Turkish Film Festival will screen, as in previous years, recent Turkish features, as well as a shorts program.

ATKB - Lifestyle-2015NYTurkishFilmFestivalVenue2014, which celebrated the centenary of Turkish cinema, was an excellent year for Turkish films, marked by the master director Nuri Bilge Ceylan winning the Palme D’Or at Cannes for his epic Winter’s Sleep, with a plethora of other Turkish films winning awards at international festivals.

ATKB - Lifestyle-2015NYTurkishFilmFestivalFilmThis year’s featured screening is Song of My Mother (Annemin Şarkısı), the moving feature by Erol Mintaş which swept awards at the Sarajevo Film Festival and the 51st Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.

The screening program of the movie Song of My Mother at the SVA Theatre (333 West 23rd Street in New York – between 8th and 9th Avenues) on Sunday, March 29 at 6:30 pm includes pre-screening reception and post-screening Q&A with Erol Mintaş.
